Four killed in city

Four citizens were killed in separate incidents of violence across the metropolis on Monday, police informed Pakistan Today.Umar Zaib, 40, was gunned down by unidentified men at the Northern Bypass in Gadap Town. Gulshan-e-Maymar police said that Zaib was on his way home to the Federal B Area when unidentified men opened fire on him. Zaib died on the spot and his body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).
Separately, Danish Ayaz, 23, was shot dead by unidentified men in Block-IV of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Ayaz’s body was shifted to ASH from where it was later handed over to the heirs. In another incident, Noor Zamir, 24, was gunned down by unidentified men in Metroville, SITE area. SITE-A police said that Zamir was standing outside his house when two men opened fire on him. Police registered FIR No 307/11 against Islam Latif on the complaint of the victim’s father. In yet another incident, an unidentified 40-year-old man was killed by unidentified motorcyclists in Bahadurabad police precincts. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi.
PPP RALLY: Two groups of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) opened fire on each other at Banaras Chowk in Orangi Town after an exchange of heated words. The participants of the rally dispersed following the heavy firing. Routine activities and the markets in the area were forcibly closed down by enraged PPP activists. Later, a heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies’ personnel arrived on the scene and brought the situation under control. Police also took five People’s Students Federation (PSF) activists, including PSF Karachi President Faisal Sheikh, General Secretary Shabbir Ahmed and Information Secretary Ayaz Buneri, in custody.
