Weinstein wants Cole for movie

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein is desperate to speak to singer Cheryl Cole while they’re both at the Cannes Film Festival in France – because he wants to turn her into a film star. The ‘Girls Aloud’ beauty has landed on the U.S. panel of America’s ‘The X Factor’ alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid. And Cole is already receiving attention from some big names in the States – movie mogul Weinstein personally invited the singer to attend his party during the festival to discuss a move into acting. He tells, “I want to put Cheryl Cole in one of my films. I have heard all about her – she is getting a lot of buzz in the States with U.S. X Factor. She would sure make a great leading lady. She has a very interesting life story, I am told. I have been looking for her all over the festival. I even invited her to my party but she could not come, so hopefully when we are back in the States we can talk.”
