Two married sisters gang-raped

At least two married sisters were gang-raped at their house by four politically influential vagabonds in village Bhikhi Sandhuan, Satrah, Daska, the other day.
Reportedly, four armed people, including Tanveer alias Teero Butt and Azam alias Kaalu Ghumman, entered the house of Abida Bibi and Shabana Bibi, and took them hostage at gunpoint. The accused locked their husbands, Ali Akbar and Ali Asghar, in a separate room and gang-raped both the women the whole night.
Satrah Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Hashim Gujjar said police had arrested Azam alias Kaalu Ghumman and hoped the rest of the accused would also be arrested soon.
‘BHUTTO’S LEGACY AN ASSET TO PPP’: Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s legacy is an asset to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). She said this while addressing a public meeting at her native village Koobey Chak, Bajwaat, after inaugurating Sui gas, electricity and road projects in surrounding villages, Miani Awanan, Miani Pathanan and Kothey Arain, the other day. She added the PPP government was promoting the politics of reconciliation and it needed the support and cooperation of all the political parties on all national issues.
She further said Bhuttoism was not meant for any single political party and added that ZAB had taught the art of polity to the political parties which were now carrying forward his philosophy.
“The PPP is pursuing the policy of reconciliation as per the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and has the right to seek redress of its grievances from the court,” she said. She added that all the political parties should support the PPP’s stance to unveil the facts and reasons which led to the injustice done to ZA Bhutto.
Hepatitis rapidly spreading in Sambrial: Hepatitis is spreading alarmingly in Sambrial tehsil while Daska-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) held a medical camp at village Abiyala to diagnose the disease. A team of senior doctors, led by Professor Dr Khawar from Kh Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot, conducted the hepatitis tests of 125 people of whom 70 people were detected as hepatitis carriers.
FIF in charge Khalil-ur-Rehman said this while addressing a press conference and added that the situation was alarming in Sambrial as hepatitis was rapidly spreading among the local people. The condition of 12 out of 70 hepatitis patients was critical, he said, adding that the FIF had brought this situation into the notice of the Sialkot Health Department so that necessary preventive measures could be taken.
