Provincial Finance Minister Asim Kurd escaped an assassination attempt here in Mastung, Balochistan on Monday. According to a private television channel, some armed men opened indiscriminate firing at Asim Kurd’s caravan when he was on his way to home after visiting Asimabad near Mastung. Mastung Deputy Commissioner Noor Ul Haq said the attackers were dacoits and they also fired at police. He added that the police retaliated but the dacoits succeeded to escape from the scene.
