The administration of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Sunday received a bomb hoax call warning that the hospital would be attacked with a bomb. At around 3:00 pm, an unidentified call was received by PIMS administration in which there was a warning of a bomb blast in the hospital. “Fear and panic gripped every one in the hospital,” informed an eyewitness who was inside hospital for her routine medical check-up.
On receiving the call, the hospital administration informed the police who reached on the spot and declared the building safe after a thorough search of 2 hours by the bomb disposal squad team. SI Ahmad Usman said that following the complain bomb disposal squad reached the scene and searched the hospital and the nearby area. “Fortunately no explosive devise was found form the area”, he said.
