Ever since the US spy Raymond was arrested in Pakistan for the murder of two Pakistani citizens, and the presence of other CIA operatives along with their activities was exposed to the masses, CIA and ISI’s relationship has turned into an uncomfortable one, to say the least. Regardless of the political leadership’s dubious, diplomatic and unclear stance, the military leadership of Pakistan decided to take a clear stance on the espionage activities of US agents inside Pakistan.
One can’t help but wonder if these new found discomforts in the CIA-ISI relationship had anything to do with the Abbottabad incident; the killing of Osama. Osama’s very existence has been subject of one controversy or the other ever since 2001. Controversies such as Osama working for the CIA, or having already been killed in December 2001, or being a fictitious character created by the CIA to be used as an entry pass to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc have been doing the rounds. There are countless questions. I don’t think Osama bin Laden died that day, I would rather say that he ‘seized’ to exist. As probably his existence was no more required by the very people who brought him into existence. The question is how exactly is the US planning to use this against us? And how long are we going to wait till we say it is enough?
