Social problems have become a real challenge for Pakistan’s progress because in the presence of such issues, it is difficult for a country to survive and move forward towards success and development. The one of these severe issues is the “lawlessness”. Today in our daily life we don’t feel secure and safe. All the time, we are scared of some unknown fears because there is a real law and order situation existing around us. This situation is due to the lawlessness which enables the individuals to act like the judges in the society and take actions according their own thoughts and maul the system to their benefit. Everyone looks confused and frustrated due to the complex environmental behaviour, which is neither understandable nor acceptable.
People are trained and forced to go systematically, and follow the rules and procedures in their daily life, but the system is just opposite of it. The protectors have become the helpers of thieves which has increased frustration among people in a way that they are looking for shortcuts while damaging the rules and principles of country. Weapons are sold illegally and the people in the government do not pay taxes. In fact, they are increasing the taxes on almost each and every thing, like the proposed RGST. The raise in taxation and prices are aimed at hiding the real issues. Furthermore, all the famous politicians are debtors of WAPDA and KESC.
In a situation like this, nobody can ask why the economy is unstable and our currency rate is decreasing. We are not recruiting people on merit and we do not give admission to the deserving students. In this scenario, how can we bring a positive change? Economy is almost destroyed because we are not getting any foreign investment amidst existing lawlessness, as other countries do not consider Pakistan a safe place to invest their capital. The local investors are also moving to abroad because their rights are not protected here while even their lives are not safe. The tragedy is that the tenders are given to the relatives of ministers or the supporters of winning political parties, as a result of which the deserving companies and individuals are always discouraged.
Those who are in power do not bother to investigate whether the contracts are given to the experienced and competent people or not. It is not surprising, because they only have their personal interests in their minds because they are not fair with their country and no body is ready to implement the law and ensure justice in every sphere of life. We should keep in mind that no society can make any progress in a state of lawlessness and disorder. It is our national duty to raise our voice and make our people aware of all unfair happenings and convince them to be active in the reformation process.
