The chief traffic officer (CTO) on Monday announced two traffic wardens including a female warden “Wardens of the Month”.
According to traffic police spokesman, wardens Amjad Ali and Sumera Iliyas had been awarded class II certificates besides Rs 10,000 cash prize each. The CTO said the aforesaid step had been initiated in order to expedite wardens’ performance. He, however, warned the entire traffic force that strict legal action would be initiated against wardens who showed any leniency while performing their duties. Female wardens Ufaq Gillani, Rabia Shahnaz, Asima Rehman and male wardens Ijaz and Naveed had also been given appreciation letters.
