For Mehrbano Khattak, any medium of expression could be used by artists, designers, architects and artisans as long as it elevates an awakening of the self and the society.
Khattak rediscovered printmaking after 10 years at Rawalpindi’s National College of Arts (NCA) and used this platform to fulfil her passion for expressing her views with the experimentation method.
She is a graduate of NCA-Lahore and a faculty member of its Rawalpindi campus. Along with teaching, she is also professionally engaged in graphic designing and providing artworks to interior firms.
She also advises students of Bachelors level who plan to pursue their Master’s degree, and for the last five years, she has been an external examiner for various institutions.
She started working in printmaking as a personalised expression of thoughts. “My work is experimental with mediums designed because of my formal education. I derive topics from perception collected every day,” she says.
