Wheat procurement campaign is in full swing in district Hafizabad while 1.4 million 100-kg bags will be purchased during this drive at the supporting price of Rs 950 per 40 kg. This was disclosed by Pakistan Agriculture Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) Zonal Manager Malik Munir at a meeting held at the district complex. DCO Muhammad Asif presided over the meeting at which wheat procurement drive was reviewed.
Malik Munir Ahmad told the meeting that more than 800,000 wheat sacks of 100 kg each had been purchased so far from the 19 purchase centres set up in the district. The DCO directed the PASSCO officials to ensure issuance of gunny bags to only growers according to the list of the revenue department already provided to all the purchase centres. He also directed the executive engineer, provincial highways, Gujranwala, to make arrangements to avert road accidents. The executive engineer said concrete steps would be taken in this regard to save the precious lives of passengers.
GIRL ABDUCTED: Four people abducted a girl from village Dohatta Azmat near Hafizabad in the absence of her parents. Kaleki police have registered a case and started investigation. Ali Muhammad and his wife went to Sarghoda to attend a wedding ceremony. In their absence, Aslam and his three accomplices came to the village and abducted their daughter.
