Solving energy crisis

Energy is considered to be lifeline of any economy for it is pivotal in running machinery in factories and industrial sector, or lighting the cities. According to an international analysis, the oil and gas reserves will dry up in the second half of this century.
Water and energy are the main problems of our country. Pakistan’s energy infrastructure is under-developed and poorly managed. With energy’s immense socio-economic ramifications, the prevalent energy crisis has become critical issue of our country. It is preventing people from carrying out their daily routine and it is also depriving many of their livelihoods. Despite all these no serious efforts have been made to increase the capacity of generation.
Effective management, check and balance in the transmission and distribution system, opening of new projects and public awareness is the need of the time to bridle this storm. Also tapping indigenous resources, using renewable resources, import of natural gas and electricity and utilising alternative energy resources are the recommendations to handle this energy crisis.
