At least six people were killed and 10 others wounded on Saturday when a bus was bombed in a village near the garrison town of Kharian. “At least six people were killed in the blast,” senior police official Afzal Bhatti said, adding that those wounded had been moved to nearby hospitals. The blast took place in Chakmal village, some 130km of Islamabad. The bus was heading towards Kharian from Kotla. There are conflicting accounts about the incident as AFP reported that the blast was caused by a planted bomb while local news agencies said that a suicide bomber targeted the bus. But according to some TV channels, a roadside bomb was used in the latest terror strike. Three women and a child are among the victims while the condition of some of the hospitalised persons is stated to be critical. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the bombing.
