Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran launched his 7th book “The Grand Deception: corporate America and perpetual war” on Sunday. Initially written in Urdu as “Pase Pardaha”, the book is an analysis of the global politics with particular reference to the United States.
The main theme of the book revolves around the notion that most wars in the world today are fought for economic interests. In a series of essays, Kamran argued that more often than not, these economic interests are the interests of the wealthy elites of a country and counter to interests of the citizens of that country. He also pointed out that the wealthy elite– the high cabal— was ceaselessly active in capturing the global resources and was by and large, highly successful in attaining its objectives.
He claimed that this reality was concealed from the American nation and added that the domestic and foreign policies of the US were an illustration of this grand deception.
