Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Saturday said the establishment would not provide ‘political crutches’ to Nawaz Sharif for coming back in power. Talking to a private channel, she described Nawaz Sharif’s attitude as negative and advised the PML-N leader stop playing with eth sentiments of the nation at a time when the government was trying to unite the people. The minister said Nawaz was raising a hue and cry against the establishment just because it had given a clear message to him that unlike the past it would not support the PML-N in future. Firdous accused Nawaz of sabotaging the joint session of the Parliament by criticising the security agencies in a press conference.
He said Nawaz should have avoided meeting with United States Ambassador Cameron Munter, adding that he was indulging in point-scoring, an exercise against the national interest. Former US President Clinton also revealed the fact in his book that Nawaz sought help from his country after some cases were registered against him by Musharraf regime.
