CM inaugurates cricket complex in Shahdara

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday inaugurated Mian Nawaz Sharif Cricket Complex in Shahdara, announced establishing 100 cricket grounds in the city and reviewed pace of Lahore-Jaranwala Dual Carriageway construction at the Faizpur Interchange.
The CM while inspecting the construction work of Lahore Jaranwala Road at Faizpur Interchange said the government was determined to ensure timely and quality completion of the development projects and added that every penny from the public funds was being utilized on the welfare of citizens in a transparent manner. While addressing at the inauguration of the cricket complex, the CM said the cricket ground would be beautified on the pattern of Qaddafi Stadium.
He said a modern pavilion had been built for the players. He directed the administration to renovate Shahdara Cricket Ground within a month and plant the best quality grass in it. He said the citizens should identify illegally occupied lands so that they could be recovered and used for recreational activities. He said a children’s park would be developed in place of the Shahdara Bus Terminal. He said the project of setting up a 250-bed hospital in Shahdara would also be completed within a year.
A cricket match was in progress when the CM reached the complex. The CM shook hands with all the players individually. Earlier, in a briefing at the Faizpur Interchange, Communication and Works secretary said Lahore-Jaranwala Dual Carriageway Project would be completed by August 14.
