President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday singed “the National Defence University (NDU) Bill, 2011” into a law which provides for the establishment of the NDU at Islamabad.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the National Defence University Bill, 2011 was passed by the National Assembly on February 21, 2011 while the Senate passed the bill on May 4, 2011.
The new enactment provides for the establishment of the National Defence University (NDU) at Islamabad with the objective to impart higher education in the fields of national defence, management, statecraft and security to meet contemporary and future challenges and to promote national interests.
