Students of Civil Lines College and traffic wardens scuffled near Kachehri Chowk on Friday. Two traffic wardens and some students were injured. The scuffle started after traffic wardens barred the students, reportedly from Islami Jamiat-e-Talba (IJT), from protesting at the chowk.
Students claimed that the wardens fined them without reason while wardens claimed students were the aggressors. Traffic police sources said the issue was settled after SP City Asif Shehzad negotiated with the students. Wardens Sufiyan and Mushtaq were injured while three students Ghulam Abbas, Ejaz and Sajid also sustained injuries.
