Court accepts plea bargains by four students

An accountability court on Friday accepted plea bargains by four students charged with misappropriation of the MORA Scholarship Fund. Khalid, Anwar, Fayyaz and Munir received Rs 180,000, Rs 45,900, Rs 51,300 and Rs 97,290 respectively from the MORA Scholarship Fund during the period 2005-06, which they embezzled. When the Punjab chapter of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) initiated an inquiry against them, they voluntarily offered to submit the embezzled amount of money.
REMAND EXTENDED: An accountability court on Friday extended the physical remand of Zahid Farooq Cheema, an accomplice of Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah till May 20. Zahid with the connivance of the Double Shah took money from various investors on promise of returning their deposits with unprecedented profits after the expiry of the specified period.
