At least eight suspected militants were killed in a US drone attack on a vehicle in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan on Thursday, while five others, including three tribesmen and two soldiers of the Afghan National Army, were killed in a clash on the border. Reports from Miranshah revealed that a vehicle was targeted by two missiles fired by a US drone in the Payeekhel area of Datta Khel, killing eight of the vehicle’s passengers and injuring several others.
The identity of the killed and injured could not be determined but the tribesmen claimed that they included some foreigners. Taliban militants took the bodies to an unknown place. Meanwhile, five men were killed in clashes between the Afghan National Army and tribesmen from Lwara Mandi in North Waziristan. The clashes started when the tribesmen refused to surrender weapons to the Afghan National Army personnel in Devgar Saidgee area on the Pak-Afghan border.
