Former Lahore EDO Dr Fayyaz Ranjha has been appointed the federal Planning Commission DG, Pakistan Today has learnt. Ranjha has been Mayo Hospital medical superintendent before becoming the Lahore executive district officer (EDO) health. However, CM Shahbaz Sharif removed him from the post over his negligence in handling the dengue operation in Punjab.
Sources said Ranjha was made the Mayo Hospital MS due to his closeness with the Chaudhrys of Gujrat and was removed from the post with the incumbent government. They further said Ranjha has got his current post of the DG in the Planning commission using the same influence, as the chaudhrys have joined the federal cabinet. Ranjha confirmed the posting and said he will be joining the post soon.
