NAB charges EDO’s staffer for acquiring illegal assets

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab on Thursday filed a reference in an accountability court against the Rahim Yar Khan DHDC Training Institute Executive District Officer (EDO)’s staffer Dr Abdul Waheed who had illegally acquired assets worth Rs 235.15 million during the period of 1985-2005.
According to details, NAB had filed a reference against Waheed saying that he had not inherited any property and in spite of that he had established assets worth Rs 33,192,415 against an income of Rs 96, 76,496 from 1985-2005. NAB said Waheed joined the Health Department in 1985 and till 2005 he had acquired various properties in Rahim Yar Khan in his own name as well as in the name of his dependants.
The bureau said the accused acquired a 1.9 kanal commercial plot worth Rs 22,568, a 1.1 kanal residential plot worth Rs 40, 28,500 in the new Officers’ Colony, a 2.4 kanal commercial plot worth Rs 9,360,000 on the railway road and a shop worth Rs 1,175,050 in his own name.
The accused also acquired two shops worth Rs 705,050 on the Hospital Road in the name of Nabeela Waheed, a 2.12 kanal residential plot worth Rs 2,625,050 in the new Officers’ Colony in the name of Zaigham Sabtain and Hamza Moeez and a one kanal residential plot worth Rs 308,050 in Usman Block, Abbasia Town near Habib Colony in the name of Ramsha Zahazeen.
