Security forces opened fire on anti-government demonstrators in Yemen’s second largest city Taez on Thursday, wounding dozens, witnesses and medics said. Central Security forces and units from the Republican Guard intervened to disperse the new protest in Jamal Street in the city centre demanding the ouster of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, witnesses said. Dozens of protesters were wounded, said a medic at a field hospital in Freedom Square, the focal point of protests in Taez. Protesters have camped out in Jamal Street this week, blocking the key artery.On Wednesday, security forces killed 16 demonstrators, two of them in Taez.
