Three city traffic police wardens foiled an attempt of abduction of two children by two unidentified men at Bhatti Chowk, Ravi Road, on Wednesday. According to the traffic police sources, a bus mistakenly dropped Adeel, 7 and Khadija, 5 both children of Shoukat Ali, a resident of Chungi Amarsidhu, at Bhatti Chowk where they forgot their way back home.
Both the children were standing alone on the road, when two unidentified men attempted to abduct them but the children started to shout and ran towards the wardens, Kashif, Sufian and Sheraz who rescued them. The wardens also tried to arrest the would-be abductors but they fled. The wardens brought Adeel and Khadija to the sector office and informed the chief traffic officer (CTO). The traffic police got the addresses from the children and sent them home. The CTO gave CCII certificates to the wardens.
