Shahid’s glory run continues in National Jr Cycling

Shahid Nisar of Army won his second gold medal in two days in the 4th National Junior Cycling Championship on Wednesday
The championship, which started on Tuesday morning, saw Shahid winning the first gold medal in one km time trial and on day two he won the 25 km individual road time trial and was followed by Abid of Sindh and Zahid of Punjab at second and third places.
Shahid clocked 37 minutes, 54.59 seconds to claim first place
In 25km road team time trial, Army claimed the winner’s position while Punjab and Railways secured second and third slots and later in the day Army won another title 4km team pursuit. Earlier on day one, Shahid was followed by Zahid of Punjab for silver medal and Sohail of Railways for bronze in one km time trial. Although the event started on Tuesday morning but the formal opening of the event was held at the Cycling Velodrome under lights when Shahryar Ali Malik, Senior Executive Guard Group of Companies, inaugurated the event which is being participated by all the nine affiliated units of the PCF.
Today, another three events will be held at cycling velodrome and 50 KM road race at Lahore Ring Road. Chief guest for closing and prize distribution ceremony will be Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Minister of Education Punjab, at 5 PM at the Cycling Velodrome.
