The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has submitted to the AFC the latest version of their Club Licensing Regulations for Elite League. The PFF are also in a meeting with FIFA to finalise their statutes which will also take them closer to the completion of Phase I of the AFC Vision Asia implementation.
Among the most important amendments incorporated in the latest regulations is the revision of the number of registered players for the league for each club from 40 to a minimum of 18 and maximum of 30 as per the AFC Vision Asia Club Licensing Regulations. Phase I, which focuses on FA governance, has to be completed before the PFF progresses to Phase II which emphasises on club and competition matters.
Developing football in Pakistan requires the clubs to stand alone as legal entities. Vision Asia is AFC’s continental football development programme focusing on elements such as refereeing, marketing and competitions. Pakistan is one of several member associations taking part in the Vision Asia football development programme.
