Petrol supply stopped to police vehicles

The filling stations of the district stopped the supply of petrol and diesel to the police vehicles over the nonpayment of Rs 6 million outstanding dues. Talking to newsmen, several owners of the filling stations said the Sialkot police department had become a defaulter of Rs 6 million, so the supply of petrol and diesel had been halted to its vehicles. They also urged the police high-ups to ensure the early payment of the said outstanding dues.
34 FILTRATION PLANTS LYING OUT OF ORDER: As many as 34 water filtration plants of total 36 have been lying out of order in Sambrial. The water filtration plants were installed in various parts of Sambrial city several years ago, but they have become out of order owing to the alleged slackness of the tehsil municipal administration (TMA). Local social, political, religious and business circles have expressed grave concern over this situation, demanding Gujranwala Division Commissioner Saeed Wahla and Sialkot DCO Mujahid Sher Dil to take notice of this situation. They said they had repeatedly bought this matter into the notice of the TMA’s officials, but to no avail.
