LHC shuffles judges

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday transferred 12 district and sessions judges while four of them were promoted as well.
According to a notification issued by LHC Registrar Sohail Nasir, D&SJ Syed Hamid Hussain has been transferred from Sargodha to Jhelum, Khalid Mahmood Malik from Jhelum to Sargodha, Bahadar Ali Khan from Lahore to Lodhran, Mehr Muhammad Nawaz from Lodhran to Lahore, Manzoor Hussain from Kabirwala to Sialkot, Tariq Iftikhar Ahmed from Sialkot to Lahore, Muhammad Abdul Nasir from Gujranwala to Toba Taik Singh, Muhammad Azhar from Toba Taik Singh to Lahore, Safdar Saleem Shahid from Chunian to Bahawalnagar, Shahid Naseer from Bahawalnagar to Lahore, Muhammad Tanvir Mir from Islamabad to Bahawalpur and Muhammad Islam from Bahawalpur to Lahore.
Four of the judges, Bahadar Ali, Manzoor Hussain, Muhammad Abdul Nasir and Muhammad Tanvir Mir who were earlier serving as additional district and sessions judges, have been promoted as district and sessions judges. All the judges have been told to resume the charge of their new duties by May 16. LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry also promoted Narowal Senior Civil Judge Amir Saleem Rana as additional district and sessions judge at Zafarwal sub-division. Rana will take charge of his office from May12. Meanwhile, one post of additional district and sessions judge has been transferred from Muzaffargarh district headquarters to Zafarwal sub-division in Narowal district.
