Customs recovers 425g heroin

The airport unit of the Pakistan Customs’ Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) seized 425g of heroin concealed in the binding of a magazine booked for South Africa. According to details, the DEC staff was clearing the outgoing international mail parcels at the International Mail Office, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and intercepted a package booked from Sanghar (Sindh) for an address in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Upon examination of the parcel, fine quality heroin was found to be concealed in the hard cover of a home-decor catalogue. The contraband was seized and a prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act 1997 has been registered.
