Unending miseries of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails

As many as eight out of total 11 Pakistani prisoners, languishing in the Central Jail Sri Ganga Nagar Rajasthan, India, have now become mentally and physically sick as they have been suffering there for several years despite completing the imprisonment awarded by a local Indian court for illegally entering an Indian territory several years ago. It was disclosed by village Kaanwaan Lit-based Pakistani prisoner Tayyub Tahir in a letter to his family in Pakistan. He alleged the said Pakistani prisoners, including him, had been living a very miserable life as they were being treated like animals by the Indian jail officials.
He said the jail was presenting a picture of filth depot and added that there was no proper arrangement of cleanliness in the jail, due to which there was a great suffocation in the jail. He added that on account of the worst water supply system, the prisoners, especially from Pakistan, were unable to get fresh and clean water. Only three Pakistani prisoners were in better physical and mental health, he said, adding that sick Pakistani prisoners were being given improper medicines to treat depression. He further said five other Pakistani prisoners, including 30-year-old Shehbaz and 75-year-old Baba Sultan, recently died in the jail and were buried in a local graveyard at Beekaneer without informing their families in Pakistan.
