Vehemently condemning the covert US operation against Al-Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, senators demanded court trial of the operation urging that no compromise shall be made on sovereignty of the country.
Taking part in debate over Abbottabad operation during Senate session on Wednesday, the senators strongly condemned the unilateral US operation against Osama Bin Laden. The senators have demanded that the cooperation in war against terrorism should be made conditional with the country’s interests and sovereignty.
Senator Saleem Saif Ullah criticised that government has blamed the previous regime for all problems and has now included the previous regime in the alliance. He further said that strong opposition is essential for democratic government.
Saleem Saif Ullah said that if the US helicopters would have flown for a few more minutes, then they could have reach Islamabad and if in future US would dislike our President or Prime Minister, then it could target them in the upper house.
He demanded court trial of Abbottabad operation because such operations would be repeated in future if they would be neglected now.
Senator SM Zafar has said that after Abbottabad operation all of us have to realize that we are a sovereign country. He said that no country should violate the territory of other country.
SM Zafar further said that now we should make it clear to America that if the drone attacks would be repeated, then cooperation in war against terrorism would be stopped.
