Police assault protesters demanding justice over girl’s death in Lahore

Dozens of protesters including family members demanding justice over death of a teen age girl allegedly was brutally assaulted and tortured by police here.
According to details, a 17-year old Kiran allegedly died of harassment and repeated police raids on her house for a fake case in Lahore on Wednesday.
Kiran’s family brought her dead body on Lahore’s Multan Road and started protest against her death. The police launched a stern assault on the protesters and uprooted their camp.
The protesters alleged that police were constantly troubling and harassing them to please their powerful masters who had registered a fake case against them.
They added that some powerful people had registered a fake case of theft against them.
They have tailed police after them who repeatedly raided their house over this fake theft case and constantly harassed and tortured entire family. They also arrested mother of deceased Kiran.
Poor Kiran turned frightened and desperate by police brutalities and repeated raids and finally died under stern fear and feeling of helplessness.
The police said that a person, Imran, has registered a case of theft in Hinjarwal Police Station against deceased Kiran’s mother and a police party went to her home for investigation.
