Journalist organizations condemn Nasrullah’s killing

Khyber Union of Journalists and Peshawar Press Club have expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of
senior tribal journalist Nasrullah Afridi in a bomb explosion in Peshawar on Tuesday night.
In a joint statement issued the president of Khyber Union of Journalists Arshad Aziz Malik and General Secretary Yusuf Ali, President Peshawar Press Club Saiful Islam Saifi and General Secretary Shahid Hameed strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the journalist.
They said that government has failed to protect the lives of journalists across the country despite pressing demands by the representative bodies of media men.
Nasrullah Afridi was a senior journalist of Khyber Agency. He was associated with Pakistan Television and daily Mashriq, Peshawar for the last ten years. He has left behind five children and a widow.
The late journalist had shifted from his native and settled in Peshawar after receiving threats from a group. He was targeted in a busy market in the cantonment area by planting explosive device in his vehicle.
Khyber Union of Journalists has announced a demonstration to condemn the killing of the journalist outside Peshawar Press Club on Thursday at 11:00 A.M.
