At least 25 to 30 farmers raided the wheat purchase centre at Ahmadnagar Chattha and looted empty wheat bags. Reportedly, the farmers entered the centre and tried to snatch the empty wheat bags from the officials of the revenue and food departments. The Wazirabad assistant commissioner (AC) informed the Gujranwala district coordination officer (DCO) who ordered the closure of the centre.
CALL TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SIGNAL: Wazirabad Assistant Commissioner Sheraz Manzoor has requested Gujranwala Division National Highways Authority (NHA) chairman to install traffic signals at Wazirabad Bypass, Zafar Ali Khan Chowk, Hajipura Chowk and Daska-Sialkot Road. The citizens of Wazirabad are facing a great inconvenience in the absence of traffic signals at these places they have demanded the NHA chairman and the Gujranwala commissioner take notice of the situation.
