Taking action against slow progress of development schemes, Lahore Commissioner Nadeem Hassan Asif on Tuesday gave a deadline of June 30 to complete all projects. He was chairing a meeting with district coordination officers (DCO) and revenue department officers to review the implementation progress of development projects in Kasur, Sheikhupura and Lahore.
Appointing Additional Commissioner Usman Anwar as monitoring in-charge, Asif ordered officers to complete the ongoing projects as soon as possible by employing double shifts of labour. The commissioner ordered officers to black list those contractors who use delaying tactics in completion of development works and stop their payments.
Asif said that all under-construction schools and dispensaries should be made functional before June 30. The commissioner urged officers to work efficiently to facilitate citizens.
