The SAARC Chamber Vice President said that there was an enormous potential for investment in Pakistan particularly in the fields of finance, banking, power, alternate energy, information technology, engineering sector, textile machinery, agriculture and agro-based industry, food, fruit processing and packaging, livestock and dairy farming.
The SAARC vice president while appreciating the economic package announced by Chinese government for the promotion of bilateral trade termed it a marvelous step towards strengthening the national economy and would go a long way in improving economic conditions in Pakistan. Malik said that since China is moving towards advanced technology, the government might consider the transfer of industry to Pakistan, enabling Pakistan to meet its domestic demands and create a surplus for export purposes.

He said that Regional FPCCI SME Committee Chairman Rehmatullah Javaid has been nominated to coordinate with Chinese authorities to discuss the details of forthcoming bilateral business visits.
He stressed that Pakistan’s business community is not only active in promoting bilateral economic relations with China while under the umbrella of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry China-South Asia Business Forum had already been formed in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces and the forum is actively working for integrating the South Asian economy with China.
