Munter throws the ball in Pakistan’s court

US Ambassador in Pakistan Cameron Munter said on Monday that it was up to Pakistan to decide whether it would take action against al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri and spiritual leader of Taliban Mullah Omar with the support of Obama administration or unilaterally.
In an interview to a private TV channel, the US ambassador said Pakistan had to answer the questions about the presence of Osama in the country and the relations between both countries depend on these answers. “We are committed to fight against terrorism. Our friends in Pakistan are committed to do exactly the same thing. The decision from Pakistan has to be can we do this together, can we work together, as we should, as we both are committed. I think it can happen,” Cameron said when asked about another Abbottabad-like action in Pakistan to hunt Zawahiri or Mullah Omar.
Responding to another question, he said a conversation was going on between the Pakistani and American people as both wanted to know from the Pakistani leadership some tough questions as whether they knew about Osama hiding in Pakistan, and if the answer was a no, they had to give the reason.
