Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar said on Monday that killing of the Osama bin Laden was a warning to all terrorists, however, the US operation in Abbottabad was a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and such transgression will not be tolerated in the future.
“Neither the provincial nor the federal government were taken into confidence and CM KP was the first person to issue a statement after the operation,” Main Iftikhar said while talking to the media after a cabinet meeting. To a query, he said the operation was not discussed in cabinet meeting as Prime Minister Yousuf Raz Gillani still had to issue a policy statement however ANP had condemned the operation.
He raised questions about Osama presence in Pakistan and inquired why he would be in Pakistan in the first place, adding that it would be shameful if the intelligence agencies were not aware of his presence. Appreciating President Asif Ali Zardari, PM and Chief of Army Staff Ashfaq Kayani, he said a unified stance needs to be taken on the subject, adding that terrorists should eliminated to end external interference in the country’s affairs.
The KP cabinet approved the recommendations of the committee, under which the status of the adjacent departments of the board of revenue would be eliminated and would be given an independent status under which the revenue and land management and the board of revenue would be shifted to district and divisional level. The cabinet approved the hiring of more than 200 patwaries to increase the workforce.
The cabinet also made the attachment of a female’s candidate picture to the SSC examination form to prevent cheating compulsory. Iftikhar also said that the cabinet had also approved of changing the names of City Hospital Kohat Road to Nasir Ullah Babar Memorial Hospital, City Children Hospital to Safoot Ghayoor Memorial Hospital, Women Children Hospital to Mualvi Ameer Shah Qadri memorial hospital, Pabbi Tehsil hospital to Main Rashed Hussain Shaheed Memorial Hospital, and Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Matta Swat to Zakir Khan Shaheed Memorial Hospital.
