Asian Cultural Association arranged an award show to honor the excellent performances of people from different walks of life in the Alhamra Art Complex. The shows Chief Guest acting speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mash’hood said that we need to compete with the world in the cultural front as well.
Admitting government negligence regarding the needs of the film industry, he also criticized the contents shown in stage dramas and films, produced at local level. “We should not overlook the purpose for which we got a separate homeland. The image reflected through films and dramas is not the real image of our society,” he said.
The awards in categories best garment manufacturing, best businessman, best builder, best insurance company were given to notable entrepreneurs and industrialists. Famous song composer Khwaja Pervez received the award of best public poet while the life time achievement award went to actress Durdana Rahman.
Many singers and dancers also performed at the show.
