‘Here & There’ in Sindh through a lens of a diplomat’s camera

Sindh Electric Power Minister Shazia Marri inaugurated Turkish Consul General Fethi Etem’s photo exhibition titled “Here & There” at the Canvas Gallery in Clifton on Monday. At the exhibition, Etem has placed his collection of pictures that he took in different countries including Pakistan, Turkey, China and Bangladesh.
“Pakistan has a great heritage and the present government is making all efforts to promote its heritage sites and present them before the world by holding photo exhibitions inside and outside the country,” said Marri. “Etem’s exhibition is dovetail of ancient and modern architecture and heritage of different places in the world,” she added.
She said that Etem has helped the Sindh Tourism Department by exploring the hidden sides of the province’s great culture and architecture during his stay in Karachi. “The world needs tolerance and by holding photo exhibitions and other social and cultural events, the people of different nations can be brought close to each other,” she added.
Etem told the media that his exploration of Sindh through his photographs is an unforgettable experience through which he saw a great culture, which was hidden from the world. A large number of enthusiasts of art, archaeology and heritage were present at the exhibition. Malaysian Consul General Khalid Abdul Razzak and other diplomats of city were also present on the occasion.
