Woman killed by father over refusal to marry cousin

A man killed his 20-year-old daughter, after she refused to marry her cousin, in the Shalimar Police Station precincts. The deceased was identified as Gul Afshan, a resident of Bhogiwal located in Shalimar Area. Police said that Gul Afhan’s father Muhammad Asghar was forcing her to marry her cousin but she was not interested.
On Sunday, Asghar asked Afshan about her cousin’s proposal but she rejected it on which Asghar got infuriated and brought out his gun and fired at her daughter on which she died instantly. Local residents informed police, which after reaching the spot removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Asghar on complaint of the deceased’s paternal uncle and started investigating the matter.
Also on Sunday, unidentified men strangulated an unidentified 20-year-old man in the Shahdara Police Station precincts under mysterious circumstances. The deceased was found dead from fields located near Kala Khatai Road in Haji Kot Area. Police removed the body to the morgue for autopsy. Police also made announcements in the area but failed to find any relative of the deceased who was wearing a shirt and trouser.
According to police, the killers strangulated the deceased and fled after dumping his body. A 35 year-old-man was shot dead by three people in Shadbagh area. The deceased was identified as Malik Nadeem, a resident of the same locality. Police said that accused Atif, Mani and Shani had an old enmity with Nadeem.
On Sunday, the accused approached Nadeem and gunned him down. The body was shifted to the morgue for autopsy while no case has been registered until filing of this report.
