Motorway Police Seizes 3950 bottles of liquor

National Highways & Motorway Police seized 3950 bottles of liquor in two different incidents and arrested 05 culprits.
As per details, Motorway Police officers SPO Muhammad Karim and PO Jalal Shah were on their duty on motorway (M-2) in the area of Kalarkhar, they signaled to stop a hiace van No. LXC-1985 in lane violation, but the driver of the van instead of stopping, sped away. However, Motorway Police officers stopped the van after chasing and arrested three culprits namely Ehtasham s/o Shafiq, Abrar s/o Abdul Qayyum r/o AJK and Bilal Riaz s/o Muhammad Riaz r/o Rawalpindi. On search of the van, 3050 bottles of local made liquor were recovered.
In 2nd incident Motorway Police officers SPO Qurban Ali, SPO Younas Khan and PO Muhammad Saleem were on their duty on motorway (M-2) in the area of Chakri they observed that 04 persons are unloading the bags from a Honda civic car bearing No. LWF-189. When they saw the motorway police officers they tried to escape from the scene, but motorway police officers chased them and arrested two culprits namely Muhammad Irshad s/o Muhammad Iqbal r/o Rawalpindi and Muhammad Munir s/o Muhammad Anwar r/o Sargodha and other two culprits succeed to run away. On search of the car 900 bottles of local made liquor were recovered.
Local Police was informed and the arrested culprits alongwith the recovered bottles of liquor and vehicles were handed over to the local Police for further legal action and investigation. IG, NH&MP Mr. Zafarullah Khan appreciated the performance of the officers who took part in these episodes and announced cash reward and CC-I.
