Two security personnel were killed and two others injured when a convoy was attacked by militants with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Ladha area of South Waziristan on Sunday. The convoy was on a routine patrol in Sararogha area of Ladha Sub-Division when it was attacked at Asman Manza.
The injured personnel were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu. Soon after the IED attack, the security forces initiated a search operation and netted several suspects.In another incident, three militants, including a high level commander, were killed when two groups clashed in the Pirza area of South Waziristan, source within Taliban informed.
The groups opened fire on each other after failing to resolve differences, killing three, including Commander Noor Wali, supreme commander of the Taliban court, who was acting as a mediator. It may be mentioned here that repatriation of the Internally Displaced People (IDP’s) to South Waziristan from Tank and Dera Ismail Khan is in progress.
