President Asif Ali Zardari’s Coordinator for Punjab Naveed Chaudhary, in a statement issued on Monday, said difficult decisions would have to be taken for the restoration of the economy. The Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader said the PPP would solve problems of the country, adding that the democratic government and the army would not compromise on national sovereignty. He said the foreign policy was formed after joint discussions of the civil and military leadership and no pressure was involved in it.
Chaudhary said any weaknesses, if found, would be eliminated in the institutions. The President’s coordinator for Punjab said the government had prevented the country from the crisis with politics of reconciliation. He said the PPP was trying to resolve the issues by evolving consensus among all political parties and hoped to succeed in its mission.
