Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ahmed Raza Tahir assumed the charge as the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) on Monday. SSP Admin Tariq Abbas Qureshi, SSP Discipline Shariq Kamal, Director Public Relations Rai Nazar Hayat, PSO Ahmed Saleem and the staff of the CCPO office welcomed him upon his arrival.
Tahir said that the Lahore Police’s reorganization would be his top priority. He said he would concentrate on police’s welfare and would keep the force’s morale high. The maintenance of law and order in the city would be on top of his agenda and the Lahore Police would ensure citizens’ security, he said.
Tahir said that he had knowledge of the crime pockets of the city, which will help him in maintaining law and order. He added that a system of checks and balances would be adopted for the policemen and the negligent officers would not be tolerated.
