Former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that Osama bin Laden, alive or dead, damaged Pakistan more than anyone else and added that only due to him Pakistan had to join war against terror which worsened the country’s economy. He said this while addressing a meeting of the People’s Traders Cell and added that unnecessary demand of former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was the violation of the party discipline, adding he would have to face disciplinary action if failed to respond to the show cause notice properly.
He further said the Pakistan Armed Forces were fully capable of defending the boundaries of the country and Abbottabad operation happened only due to concentration of the army on its eastern borders. He said that the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were our national assets and the people who had been propagating against them were working on some foreign agenda. He added that the parties which were terming Osama bin Laden a martyr should come forward and explain their position instead of criticising the government.
He further said that federal budget would be presented in the National Assembly on May 28 and the traders should send their proposals before May 15 so that they might be considered. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari had already sent a message to the Punjab government that Pakistan People’s Party would help the Punjab government to get the budget passed in the assembly.
