Two cops booked for taking bribes

District Police Officer Abdur Rab has ordered the arrest of two constables of the city police on the charges of receiving bribes. The DPO received complaints that constables Imtiaz and Mehboob were receiving bribe from the people at the CIA police station. After an inquiry, complaints were found correct. On the direction of the DPO, the city police registered a case against the both constables and arrested them.
‘QUALITY EDUCATION GOVT’S TOP PRIORITY’: Quality education is the top priority of the Punjab government and establishment of Danish Schools and giving the status of centre of excellence to various high schools is its revolutionary step. This was stated by Chief Minister’s Task Force on Education Chairman and MNA Saira Afzal Tarar while addressing a meeting of the officers of the education department.
She said the Punjab government had released Rs 60 million to launch construction work Government Girls High School No 1 which had been given the status of centre of excellence. She added the Punjab government had released maximum funds to provide missing facilities to the schools. She revealed a special campaign was underway across the Punjab to ensure 100 per cent enrolment of children in the schools.
THREE DISTILLERIES UNEARTHED: The city police unearthed three distilleries in mohallah Rahmatpura and seized liquor the other day. City SHO Arif Shah received information that liquor was being prepared in a massive quantity in mohallah Rahmatpura. A police party raided the place and arrested Saifullah, Qaisar Ali and Mesra red handed while preparing liquor.
