Lendl Simmons scored the highest number of runs while team-mate Devendra Bishoo claimed the highest number of wickets in the just concluded five-match series between Pakistan and the West Indies which Pakistan won 3-2.
The West Indian opening batsman scored 279 runs at an average of 69.75 and a strike rate of 93.31 with four half centuries in five innings of as many matches. He hit 20 fours and 10 sixes in this series. Mohammed Hafeez took the number one position for Pakistan. The right-hand opening batsman scored 267 runs at 53.40 and a strike rate of 81.90 with one century and two fifties in five innings of as many matches. He hit 22 fours and five sixes in five innings. Devendra Bishoo took the first sport among the bowlers. The West Indian leg break bowler claimed 11 wickets at an average of 17.18 and a economical rate of 4.10 in five matches.
Wahab Riaz was the most successful bowler for the visitors. The left arm pacer claimed seven wickets at 25.28 with economy rate of 5.70 in four matches. As many as two centuries were scored, both from Pakistan side. Mohammed Hafiz made 121 in the fourth match at Bridgetown on May 2 while Ahmed Shehzad scored 102 in the second match at St Lucia on April 25, 2011.
One bowler, on two occasions for the hosts, claimed a four-wicket haul. Ravi Rampaul took four wickets for 32 runs in the third match at Bridgetown on April 28,2011 and claimed same number of wickets for 45 runs in the fifth and final match at Providence Stadium on May 5, 2011.
Pakistan won the five-one day match series 3-2, despite losing the final one day international by 10 wickets. It was Pakistan’s second series win in West Indies after 3-0 victory in 2005 and sixth series win overall.
