Senior federal minister and central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, has said that all those desiring the PML’s reunification were bitterly disappointed by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s vain attitude.
“It was after that disappointing response that communication lines between us and the PPP were opened. The PML-N tried its utmost to sabotage the PML-Q-PPP political alliance and even offered to support the PPP government in the forthcoming budget session only if the PPP stopped pursuing an alliance with us,” Elahi told reporters who met him to congratulate him on becoming a senior federal minister.
“The return of old friends back to the party is a healthy development. All old party comrades will be given a warm welcome on their return,” he said.
Elahi said there would be seat adjustment between the PPP and PML-Q in the coming general election.
He said his party wanted the restoration of the local government system, retention of the Ministry of Health, the Higher Education Commission and similar important ministries at the Centre and a unified education syllabus for the country. To a question, Elahi said the chapter of his party’s reunification with the PML-N had been closed for good the day Nawaz publicly denounced and condemned the reunification effort. He said the PML-N wanted the demise of our party, but the PPP government acknowledged our political standing and importance.
The PML-Q leader said his party’s collation with the PPP was the beginning of a new era of national politics.
He said the PML-Q-PPP alliance had the potential to provide the requisite political and economic strength to the country.
Commenting on the role of PML-Q’s ministers in the federal cabinet, he said they would function with extra ordinary zeal while upholding the principle of self accountability. He said utility stores outlets would be established at the Union Council level across the country to provide quality products to the people at affordable prices.
Elahi said his party wished to give the incumbent Punjab government another chance, but instead of mending its ways, the provincial government was playing havoc with the people of Punjab.
Calling Punjab government’s Ashiana Housing Scheme and Danish Schools Scheme a “ill conceived plans”, Elahi criticised the government for creating a highly discouraging environment for doctors, who he said were moving abroad due to their disgruntlement with the Sharif administration.
Elahi said the PML-Q had joined the PPP coalition government in the larger national interest.

  1. It is just corruption and habitual plundering of banks, real estate and state assets by Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi around which their politics evolve. The extended family of the Chaudhry's of Gujrat have only one objective, to protect themselves from accountability and nothing else matters. They are devoid of any ethics and principles. This alliance between Zardari and Chaudhry's of Gujrat is the most natural, because now all the big crooks are together, doing what they excell in doing which is CROOKERY, DECEIT, PLUNDER, and TELLING LIES.
