A five member Pakistan boxing team will take part in the 2nd China Open Tournament, which would be held in Guyang from May 29 to June 3. The Pakistani team will comprise Muhammad Waseem (52kg) , Qadir Khan (56kg), Sardar Muhammad (60kg), Amir Khan (64kg) and Nisar Khan (75kg). Former Asian Champion boxer Ali Bukhsh will be with the team as coach while Syed Ashraf Ali will accompany the team as a referee judge.
Pakistan won a bronze medal in the first China Open boxing tournament last year. President of Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) Doda Khan Bhutto hoped that Pakistani boxers would do their best in the tournament. He said the PBF wanted to give the boxers more international exposure before the London Olympics qualifying round.
