Youth killed for resisting robbery

Dacoits killed a youth over resistance in a city market while traders and residents took out a rally against SHO Riaz Lother and demanded his immediate suspension and transfer. Reportedly, four dacoits on two motorcycles came to a market in the centre of the city and tried to loot Hassan, a cloth merchant and a tailor, Saqib. At that moment Muhammad Kashif, 25, reached there.
The dacoits fired at him as a result of which he expired instantly. After the incident, a large number of people gathered there and started chanting slogans against City SHO Muhammad Riaz Lother. The protesters demanded DPO Khanewal Waqar Abbasi to immediately suspend and transfer the SHO.
Meanwhile, the Khanewal Chamber of Commerce and Trade president has announced that there will be a complete shutter-down strike Friday in protest against the poor performance of the city police.
